This book captivated me. I was still consumed by the characters and the setting of this novel for days after finishing it.

It was not what I expected. It struck me as a love story at first; before I knew it, I was 75% through this book (on my kindle) and I realized that there was no way it could end as I expected! What was most magical about this novel is that I felt like I could have been there, a real treat since I have always wanted to go to Ireland. Furthermore, the male protagonist was so relatable and his emotions so raw. I connected with Finn in ways I would not have expected to. I will read it it again. And probably again.

Finn Again

Winner of the Next Generation Indie Book Award.

When love drives you to war and war drives you to addiction, the journey home can be long and twisted. A half-Irish, half-English playboy, Finn McCarthy soon finds out there are some things that can't be bought, and some people who don't play by his rules.

Raised in the pubs and educated at Oxford, Finn never did know which half to favor. His Irish half loves women and booze, while his English half is wicked smart and damned polite.

And then there's Regan, the one girl who never did succumb to his charms. When war beckons, Finn answers the call, but there are some casualties even a soldier can't prepare for. Injured, addicted to painkillers and abusing alcohol, Finn begins to question the strange nighttime dreams and daytime visions that surface, haunting him with premonitions of things he can't control.

To heal his wounds he must banish his demons, a journey that leads him to a sleepy fishing village, where he meets three men that change his trajectory.

Death, loss, and grief converge as the mysteries of his Celtic roots begin to take hold. Will he be lost to the sea? Or lost within his own heart? The battle for balance might just take everything he's got left.

War does things to a man.
But Finn isn't just any man.

I loved this story of love, loss, and redemption. This is a powerful, emotional story. The writing is very good, and the characters are wonderfully developed. This one will get you in the gut as you read about lovable Finn’s decent into depression and alcoholism after a great loss and, in the end, how he finds his way back. This is one of my favorites I’ve read this year. There is a follow-up story, The Truth About Truly, which I am very anxious to read. This my first time reading Lynda Meyers, but I look forward to reading more of her work.

This book had such a beautiful storyline that captivated me from the start. I originally discovered the author’s book, The Truth About Truly, but in skimming the reviews before buying it, realized I should read Finn Again first - so I bought both. I’m glad I did, because the second I finished Finn Again, I was able to immediately dive right into Truly’s story. The writing is amazing and takes some interesting & unexpected turns, and the editing was excellent, so I never got jarred out my world-immersion. I’m definitely a new fan & can’t wait to explore the other books by this author!

A must read... this one is the best! You know when you read a book and you dream about it all night? This is that book. I couldn’t wait to finish it to see what happened, then I was sad that it was over. I loved Finn and his story. You will too.
