Wonderful, endearing, heartbreaking, incredible! Finn is the kind of guy you meet and wonder if he’s just a little crazy. Truly is guarded and suspicious and tries to guard her heart and fails...miserably. This is an amazing story and a must read (after Finn-again 🥰)

The Truth About Truly

Follow Up to the Award-Winning Finn Again

She was the girl of his dreams. It was a chance meeting, but Finn knew her at a glance. The likeness was unmistakable. Even her smell was familiar.

The problem was, Truly wasn’t looking for love. When Truly loved someone, it was a death sentence—and she wasn’t going to have that on her conscience. Not again.

Love and death were partners in crime, and she couldn’t risk doing any more time.

Finn wasn’t willing to give up. He’d cheated death twice in Afghanistan. Three times if you count nearly drowning in whiskey and painkillers.

He’d been through scores of women but had loved only once—until now.

His dreams didn’t lie: this girl was his destiny. He needed to woo her. He needed to win her heart—if he could just manage to stay alive.

She wasn’t looking for a knight in shining armor.
He wasn't looking for a beauty to rescue.
But one fateful night changed all that.
For both of them.

I have been waiting for this!! Trulane is the companion novel to Finn Again. It has been some time since I read Finn Again, but as I read Trulane I realized that these books can be read in either order (or even independently, though, not sure why you would!).

What I enjoy most about Lynda Meyers writing style is that the emotion and the characters are so relatable. Truly and I have little in common when it comes to backstory, but her voice and her emotions could have been my own. I felt her pain, I knew her pain. I shared her hopes and her joys.

And of course, I also fell in love with Finn!

Lynda has an amazing way of weaving words into an outstanding story. Her words just give life to the tale. I just wanted to keep reading to find out what will happen next.

One can understand this story without having read Finn Again first. If this is your introduction to Lynda Meyers, you must go back to read Finn Again (first) then Letters From the Ledge.

I loved Trulane ! Such a readable book. I was struck by the re-awaking of the relationship between Truly and her father. How in their grief and loss they shielded each other from the raw emotion they both faced, which estranged them. But in a time of great need they found each other and recognised each other as humans of worth.
Your description of sepsis was wholly accurate. The hallucinations, the fever, the pain. Too close for comfort, as a sepsis survivor.
I really advise you read all by this author, her characters are well conceived and totally human. Thank you for such a wonderful few hours.
