Greenhouse Check-In: Seed Snail Progress (and Failures)

Time to check back in with our greenhouse seed snail project. It’s been two weeks and things are proceeding fairly well. We got good germination with both methods on the peas (traditional planting in cells / trays as well as planting seeds directly into seed snails).

Decided to try thinning my multi-sown tomatoes by creating a seed snail.

Spoiler alert: The first attempt at this roll was a total fail!

But? That’s the beauty of gardening. LOTS of trial and error creates valuable lessons, and since this whole method is new to me anyway, I’m definitely learning what works and what doesn’t!

This video, as well as part one, are both on my YouTube channel if you’d rather head over there and watch them back-to-back. You can check out one of my 100 days of me videos or maybe the one where I rode a motorcycle across a narrow suspension bridge in Nepal!

So happy that the weather is beginning to turn warm again! Can’t wait to get plants out of the greenhouse and into the garden!
